About Me

I am on the path of the Artist, which can be so much more than just picking up a set of pencils and drawing. Often, to speak with an authentic voice, you have to take a good hard look at yourself in the mirror and really try and work out who you are and what it is your trying to say.
My journey of self analysis has been quite an intense and drawn out affair. Sometimes difficult and frustrating in a world that increasingly demands instant results. I have struggled to forge my identity and authenticity in the Global Village and have often seeked solitude to contemplate the human condition and to investigate the nature of life on this planet.
All around me I have seen beauty and ugliness, good and evil, meaning and futility. The hand of the Artist seeks to collate this information into something coherent and that makes sense to himself and others. My own work has involved, up to now, immersing myself in nature and responding to it with paintings, linocuts, photographs etc. Much of what I have striven to depict has been do to with beauty (as have countless artists through history) However I have realized that to be a genuine artist I must also deal with the darker side of nature. And this is what I aim to respond to in the coming years to achieve balance and wholeness.
The purpose of this blog is to post anecdotes and musings relating to my artistic and increasingly spiritual wonderings in the hope that others might find them of some use when contemplating their own paths.
